How to interpret question citations

Question records in the current website release contain a citation or reference-note field, but the records do not yet contain item-level source URLs. A citation label such as a chapter name, topic or exam skill is a reference note; it is not, by itself, proof that the exact wording appeared in an official examination paper or that an answer key was issued by the exam authority.

We therefore distinguish an official examination-pattern reference from the source of an individual question. The official source may establish the structure, timing, syllabus or scoring scheme without establishing the origin or answer key of every practice question on this website.

Question categories used on the site

  • Independent practice items: Questions used for concept practice and skill development. They are not official exam questions unless a specific official source is attached and verified.
  • Textbook or syllabus reference notes: Citation labels may name an NCERT chapter, section, syllabus topic or learning objective. Where a direct URL or exact page reference is absent, the note should be treated as a topic-level reference.
  • Shift-labelled practice sets: A shift/date label describes the intended context of a practice collection. It is not proof of verbatim official-paper provenance. The SSC CGL 2023 shift-labelled pages in this release do not attach the original SSC paper and official key URL to every record.
  • Official pattern references: Links below point to the exam authority's published pattern or task specification. They should be used for format claims, not assumed to validate all practice questions.

Current review coverage and limits

The current release contains 6,404 question records across 286 question-data JSON files (287 JSON files in the release including the web manifest). Automated checks validate JSON syntax, required question/option/answer fields, and whether answer indexes fall within the available options. These structural checks do not independently prove that each answer is factually correct.

Targeted corrections have been applied to previously identified answer/explanation defects. However, a complete independent re-solve of all 6,404 records by qualified subject reviewers has not been completed. We do not describe the full bank as independently expert-verified.

Download the question-by-question answer review register, the year/shift provenance register and the file-level review backlog. These are working registers, not certifications. The v2.9 release also includes a normalized question-overlap register and an explanation-variance review register; duplicated records are retained because some are deliberately reused across chapter sets and full mocks.

Question overlap and explanation-variance audit (v2.9)

The automated cross-file comparison identified 1,102 normalized question-stem groups with repeated instances. These account for 1,261 additional occurrences beyond the first instance in each group. Reuse can be intentional when a chapter bank is also included in a full mock, so the release does not automatically delete repeated items.

Within those repeated-stem groups, the automated comparison found 10 groups where the selected-answer text differs across instances and 77 groups where explanation wording differs. These are review flags, not confirmed errors: some stems have different option sets or reordered/rewritten choices. The exact question, option set and explanation must be reviewed together.

Download the question-overlap register and explanation-variance register. The register labels are automated comparison outputs and do not prove answer correctness.

What a fully traceable question record should contain

  1. Source authority and document title.
  2. Direct URL to the source document or official paper.
  3. Exact chapter, page, section, question number or exam shift where applicable.
  4. Answer-key source and version/date, if the item is from an official examination.
  5. Reviewer name/role, verification date and a short rationale for the selected answer.

Corrections and discrepancy reporting

Students and educators can report a suspected incorrect answer, ambiguous question, outdated exam-format statement or source mismatch through the Contact & Discrepancy Portal. Reports are reviewed when validated; no fixed turnaround time is guaranteed. Corrections are recorded in a subsequent release.

Current provenance findings (5 November 2026; carried forward into v2.9)

954 records in the current release are associated with year- or shift-labelled collections whose original item source and official answer key are not attached or item-matched in this release. This includes SSC CGL 2023 shift-labelled items and CBSE 2023/2024 board-year-labelled sets. Those records are labelled as unverified practice material and must not be described as authenticated verbatim PYQs or official board-paper questions.

For SSC CGL 2023, the Commission's official notice confirms that the Tier-I examination ran from 14 July to 27 July 2023 and that candidate response sheets with tentative answer keys were accessed through registered login details. The notice states that the response sheets would not remain available after the specified access window. See the SSC notice on 2023 response sheets and tentative keys and the SSC Answer Key archive. These references confirm the process, not the identity or answer key of each item in this practice bank.

For CBSE, the official Class X sample-paper archives for 2023–24 and 2024–25 are linked as format and marking-scheme references. They are not evidence that the site's year-labelled question sets reproduce the original annual board examination paper.

Answer accuracy: every question record remains marked pending independent subject-matter verification. Passing schema, answer-index and explanation-consistency checks is not an expert answer verification.

CBSE 2023/2024 year-labelled question sets

The year-labelled CBSE banks contain 737 question records whose citation notes previously described them as official annual board examination questions. The original annual board paper and official marking scheme were not supplied with the site archive and have not been matched item-by-item. These sets are now labelled as year-labelled practice sets with unverified provenance.

The official CBSE Class X 2023–24 Sample Question Paper & Marking Scheme archive and 2024–25 Sample Question Paper & Marking Scheme archive are references for sample-paper structure and marking-scheme context. They do not authenticate the year-labelled items in this practice bank as verbatim annual board questions.
